Waste & Recycling

Solid Waste

  • Oakwood Transfer Station
 Garbage Pick-Up
Garbage pick-up is not provided by the municipality and can be arranged on a private basis.  Private waste disposal contractors in the area may be obtained.

 Recycling
The recycling facility for the R.M. of Brokenhead residents is located at the R.M. of Brokenhead yard at 72013 Road 42E.

E-Waste

E-waste refers to electronic consumer products that are considered to be obsolete, unwanted and available for discard.  Items include computer equipment and peripherals, televisions, telephones and accessories, and audio and video equipment.

As of December 31st, 2018, the Responsible Electronics Recycling depot in Selkirk will no longer be accepting electronics for recycling.  The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead will be looking for a new recycling depot to partner with to provide e-waste recycling services to our residents.  We ask that you please hold onto your old electronics until further notice that we have made an agreement with a new facility.
